Hello All
I have included several pictures of the roof being repaired. The shingling job is complete and the EFIS Dri Vit coating has all been repaired. From the outside, our church building looks complete. Literally all the truss rafters had to be replaced or re-enforced except the beams over the worship space. We received bids for the re-construction work to be accomplished in the Parish Center and kitchens. That work will begin shortly. The “Red Tag” was removed from our building and we held a “Welcome Home” Mass last Friday and also celebrated our normally scheduled masses on Saturday & Sunday. We will hold all masses here at home in the future. We will be complete with the Parish Center this fall. I would like to thank everyone for their patience during the code compliance phase of re-construction.
Just a Note: Deacon Michael Arey, son of Bev & Stefan Arey of our Parish, will be ordained a priest on Saturday morning at 10:00 AM at the Cathedral in Crookston by Bishop Michael Hoeppner. You are all invited to come to the Cathedral, celebrate Mass and observe the ordination. A lunch will be served after. We pray for vocations regularly at Mass and every once in a while a young man hears God calling him to serve. Michael has said that he was not listening real well at the beginning and had originally started down a different career path. Eventually God got his attention and now, five years later, he will become Father Michael Arey. He will come home to St Francis de Sales on Sunday to celebrate his second Mass. The first, of course, is the Ordination on Saturday. How about a special effort to come celebrate the Eucharist with Fr. Mike on Sunday, His parents will be providing refreshments in the Meditation Garden after mass so you can all stop by after Mass and visit with Fr. Mike and his parents.
