Parish: St. Francis de Sales, Moorhead, MN
Job Title: Director of Music & Liturgy
Type of Job: Part time, 10 – 20 hours/week
Responsibilities and Tasks:

• Recruits, rehearses, and directs adult choir, encourages development of other choirs
• Recruits, trains, and schedules all musicians, cantors, and instrumentalists
• Plans all music and prepares worship aids as needed
• Primary accompanist for weekend Masses and special liturgies
• Meets with couples in wedding planning as needed
• Meets with families in funeral planning as needed
• Recruits, trains, and schedules all liturgical ministers (ushers/greeters, communion ministers, altar servers, lectors, & sacristans)
• Maintains upkeep of music library, worship space, & liturgical supplies
• Leads a baptism class once/month
• Participates in staff meetings and collaborates with other staff and parishioners often
• Works on other tasks as needed by the pastor, and works on self-initiatives as desired by the liturgist
• Maintains working knowledge of conciliar and post-conciliar Church documents

• Bachelor’s degree in music, liturgy, liturgical music, or similar field preferred
• Experience in parish music and/or liturgical ministry
